Conditions scalp – Common Causes

Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp is a common condition. It is characterized by yellowish fat scales covering red inflamed skin on the scalp. It is known to be very uncomfortable and itchy. The inflammation is aggravated by scratching only. When children suffer from seborrheic dermatitis is known as cradle cap. Psoriasis is a disease that may be present in the scalp. With psoriasis is dry patches that are white and have very dry flaky skin. Often affects other areas of the body and, like elbows and knees. Psoriasis can be a very serious condition and can even cause joint problems.

Most of these conditions are chronic and can not be cured but can usually be treated successfully. Many people make the mistake of using products with a lot of chemicals. Chemical products often tend to dry out the scalp too much and can make the problem worse. There are several natural ingredients that have been tested to work on the regulation of sebum gland. If the sebum gland functioning properly scalp will have a proper balance of oil. Some of the best ingredients to look for are zinc, jojoba oil, emu oil and all those who promote a healthy scalp.
